Laura and Tim were such a fun couple to photograph and their wedding was a real highlight from my ’22 season. They were looking for relaxed wedding photography to remember their day as it unfolded. I first met the couple at their engagement session which was held on the beach in their hometown of Cleethorpes. One year later, they were saying their I do’s 70 miles away at their destination wedding at Sandburn Hall on the outskirts of York.
“From the moment we spoke to you to enquire about a photographer for our special day, we knew you were the one! We immediately felt a connection with you and you had answers to questions we had never even thought of. At both our engagement shoot and wedding day, you were absolutely amazing from start to finish. You captured such special and natural moments that we will treasure forever. We cannot thank you enough. You were a pleasure to work with and we’ll certainly be back in touch for future shoots. We could not recommend you anymore to others, they would need to look no further. We hope to see you again soon.”
Laura & Tim
Laura and Tim both stayed the night before at Sandburn Hall Hotel with their bridal parties. I love to capture coverage of both the bridal and groom’s party during the morning so, after capturing Laura’s dress, flowers and girls, I headed down to meet the boys and document their pre-wedding drinks.
After the ceremony, I whisked the newly-weds off for a few moments together and to capture their portraits in the wedding rose garden. I encourage my couples to plan this time into their day as a chance to take everything in and just chat for a few precious moments whilst I work discreetly in the background capturing all the magic.
In my experience, the best time to plan your couple portraits is after your ceremony, whilst your guests are being catered for by the venue and for beautiful evening portraits, just before sundown. Choosing two different times of the day gives your photography collection variation too, as the natural light will be giving each session a different feel.
The whole day at Sandburn Hall was a joy to capture. Sandburn Hall offers a rustic blank canvas to its couples and the team at Shindig Events transformed the space into a stunning display for the ceremony and wedding breakfast both of which were held in the Grand Hall.
I’m proud to be a recommended supplier at Sandburn Hall which also happens to be my most local venue. If you’re looking for relaxed wedding photography and would like to check my availability and see the wedding packages available, do say hello.
